Beachwood Place Expansion | Planning | Rezoning | Design & Executive Architect

Building upon 20 years of experience providing architectural services for several expansions to the mall, KA is helping to reinvigorate a nearly 35 year old upscale shopping center. This latest expansion of Beachwood Place is approximately 80,000 sf. It includes a retail and restaurant outdoor streetscape, along with two contemporary freestanding restaurants which will attract many new patrons to the center. KA was heavily involved in the rezoning process of eleven residential properties over a ten month period of time, interfacing with the client, the City of Beachwood officials, and local residents.

As this expansion is located on a high-traffic street and across from a residential community, KA has designed a landscaped buffer containing existing vegetation along with new landscaped berms and bio-cells to provide for clean water requirements. This buffer will serve dual purposes as both a landscape feature as well as a visual screen for the project’s residential neighbors.

KA will also be responsible for securing site improvement approvals and building permits for the new retail area.
